This being my first vocabulary post, I should explain that the definitions come from my dictionary, but the explanations are my own interpretation or tricks for remembering the words. I am NOT a native speaker, and these lists are primarily made for my own use. I’m posting them here in case it’s useful to someone else to have vocabulary lists. I try to find new words in texts, comics, or videos– which makes it more interesting than random word lists.
Also, I am NOT translating every bit of something. I’m merely taking the words that I don’t know yet. So, these lists won’t be helpful to a complete beginner.
의문 a question, a doubt, interrogative
think ‘의’ from 의심하다 (to doubt)
시민 a citizen, townsman
in this case meaning just a regular person, not affiliated with the show, stopping by to check out Nichkhun.
등장 an appearance, enters (on stage)
someone was asking “ohh, will the wife appear?” when the mysterious car pulls up (alas, not yet)
종점 the end of the line, last stop
here it’s used on the sign to declare the destination of the bus
촬영 filming, shooting on location
“MBC <우리 결혼했어요> 촬영 중인 버스입니다”
“This is the MBC “We Got Married” bus, which is in the middle of filming on location”
익다 familiar, used to, accustomed to
낯익다 to get used to seeing, familiar, well-known
These words are kind of similar– the first one is when Nichkhun hears the familiar tune “귀에 익은 멜로디”
the second is when we see the familiar hairstyle getting on the bus…
황당 absurdity, nonsense
(~한 상황) ridiculous/absurd situation
it’s used to say “in this ridiculous situation Nichkhun is even suspicious of the other passengers”
착잡 complication, mixed feelings, intricacy
when she gets on the bus and sees his confused expression, she laughingly asks him if he has mixed feelings (because she lies and says she’s his “wife”)
think ‘잡’ from 복잡하다 (to be complicated)
